ほやほや – Elyphant – Bucolia (SNZ047) Album

This past week saw the well anticipated release of Elyphant‘s debut full length ‘Bucolia‘. Keeping in the tradition of vibrant, reflexive, and quirky sound design, the album takes on a more buttoned up and tidy approach to experimental electronic than previous releases. The vocal sampling on the album laces pop echoes through ratchety toy keys and thickly sculpted synths. Elements of the album evoke classic trip hop rhythms and tones of the early 90’s rave scene. The production manages to bring us both back in time and heavily anchor us in the now. Having taken his time putting it together (we’ve been hearing about this for the past 9 months) and putting the works under heavy scrutiny with the help of  artist/musician/critic/professor PhD. Seth Kim Cohen and more, the product is a well organized and deeply thought out piece of (what we here at Senzu) call Art. With a distinctly unique sound and an astonishing work ethic, we are extremely proud to present this album.
